Stories, Photos, Videos, & Who New?

There could not have been a more perfect day for the Fourth Annual Folsom Blues Breakout races! Race morning arrived with a few clouds, mostly sunshine, no wind, and temperatures beginning in the mid-50s and rising to the mid-60s. The new course finish received a thumbs up, as did the overall race management. Read on to savor the day. Thank you for joining us, special thanks to our hundreds of awesome volunteers, and thank you to those who contributed photos and videos!

RnR Training Group

Running for Rhett Training Group at the start of the 2016 Folsom Blues Breakout Half Marathon!

Excellent race management and runner-friendly courses make the Folsom Blues Breakout events popular for those newer to running. This year FBB training groups included Runnin' for Rhett, Fleet Feet Fair Oaks/Folsom, The Running Group, SacFit, and Gold Country Run+Sport. For more information about these programs, visit the FBB training page!

Congratulations Paul Flanagan! Paul, age 85, defended his Men 80+ age division title with a finish time of 27:31 (8:53 pace), placing him 33rd overall.

Our Half Marathon Women's Winner and 5K Men's Winner both hail from Missoula, MT, but 5K runner Chris Squires from Blowing Rock, NC was the runner to come from the farthest distance away. He won his M50-54 age division (6:16 pace) and was 7th male overall. Second farthest was Half Marathoner Christopher Parnell from Virginia Beach, VA. Now there's a pair of true Johnny Cash fans!

Good Day Folsom was at the start to do some live TV interviews. Check it out.

And these speedy young men captured the spirit of the event with this YouTube video!
