Folsom, CA groundbreaking for new $3 million Johnny Cash bike-pedestrian trail gets high marks from daughter, Cindy Cash

As usual, at any ground breaking, there were a lot of Folsom, CA. politicians on hand to give speeches about why they were dedicating a bike-pedestrian trail to singer Johnny Cash, who is not famous for riding bicycles. But it was the singer's daughter, Cindy Cash, who stole the show by saying how much she loved Folsom and its residents so much that she's thinking of buying a condo and moving there from her hometown of Ventura. After the ceremony and shovel digging, Cindy jammed with the Johnny Cash Tribute band, The Walking Phoenixes. She provided the "Mama sang tenor" lyrics in the Cash song, Daddy Sang Bass. See and hear it all on this 11 minute video produced by Gene Beley, who was at the original Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison concert, Jan. 13, 1968 with his photo partner, Dan Poush. Some of Poush's and Beleys' photos from that experience are included in this exclusive video. Enjoy!

Cindy Cash, the daughter of country singing legend Johnny Cash, was all smiles as she and local dignitaries broke ground for the Johnny Cash Trail and Bike/Pedestrian Overcrossing last week. The overcrossing, which will span busy Folsom Lake Crossing Road near East Natoma Street, is expected to open in the fall.
