Fastest 5K in the WEST - perhaps the WORLD!

This is the "Fastest 5K in the West"... perhaps in the nation, even the world! It is also beginning runner and walker friendly. It starts on the Folsom Crossing (aka Johnny Cash) Bridge and stays on well-paved roads, crosses the famous Rainbow Bridge, and finishes in Folsom's eclectic Historic District. Participants receive the same amenities as the Half Marathon and Relay runners, including a Johnny-themed technical fabric t-shirt and unique finisher's medallion. Scroll down to check out much more information (getting to the start, race rules, the course profile and course map. Important 2017 Updates for 5K Runners

  • The rockslide on the West side of Lake Natoma has not affected the 5K, but the Half Marathon/Relay course has been revised, and these runners will be staying on the East side of Lake Natoma,  which includes running through  Historic Folsom.
  • Both 5K and Half Marathon/Relay runners will start at 7:30 am.
  • The Half Marathon/Relay runners' start line is approx. 0.25 mile  behind the 5K start line.
  • Faster Half Marathon/Relay runners will be passing slower 5K runners. Be aware of this and do not block their progress.
  • As the 5K runners enter Folsom's Historic District, STAY TO THE LEFT as you approach the 5K finish line. Half Marathon/Relay runners will stay to the right as they run toward through the Historic District to the Lake Natoma Trail.
